Helena has a degree in Psychology from the University of Central American Social Sciences, and has more than 5 years experience as art therapy coordinator in workshops and care in the private clinic. She studied Sociology at the University of Costa Rica and has diplomas in Art Therapy from the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico, UCACIS-UAM, from the Summer School the Foundation Course of Art Therapy from the Metáfora Institute, in Barcelona, ​​Spain, and from the Training in Mindfulness from the Mexican Institute of Mindfulness.

Her concern and commitment to contribute in a meaningful way to society drew her to be part of the Sueña en Colores/Dream in Colors Board of Directors in 2016. She has been using every form of art as a tool to cope with social problems in at-risk communities throughout Costa Rica.
She's very aware of the power of art in all it's manifestations, and uses it as a tool to fight against social problems in communities with needs.
